WHAT IS THE MEXICAN FILM FESTIVAL OF THE AMERICAS?
The Mexican Film Festival of the Americas is a program of Casa Ciudad de Mexico en Chicago, created as a way to expose the best of contemporary Mexican Cinema to the world. We hope to continue to support and cultivate every aspect of Cinema by Mexican nationals and of Mexican descent, as well as exhibiting films from Mexico the USA and the world.
Casa Ciudad de Mexico (Casa Mexico City) – CCM, in Chicago is a program of the Bi-national Institute of Human Development, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and strengthening the bilateral relations between Mexico City and the local, state, and federal governments in the USA as well as other institutions, and non-governmental organizations that share our vision of global enhancement through building stronger relationships.
MFFA is an exhibition, performance and educational event dedicated to supporting and cultivating every aspect of Mexican Cinema, including emerging and cutting edge Mexican films with the emphasis on discovering new filmmakers from Mexico and abroad.

- PROMOTE AND INCREASE the visibility of Mexican Filmmakers from around the world
- SHOWCASE works from established Mexican filmmakers accompanied by workshops and conferences with their participation
- ENCOURAGE local youth to pursue careers in film, including acting and production
- STIMULATE a dialogue about the artistic merits, integrity and social significance of Mexican cinema
- EDUCATE through corporate conducted workshops and seminars of the latest film industry technology, gadgets and trends.
